PRP and A2M

PRP

We are now offering PRP and A2M!

About Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP):

PRP is derived from YOUR own blood with a venous blood draw in our office. Your blood is then separated by use of a centrifuge and a spinning technique. This takes 15-30 minutes. You will wait in our waiting room while we do the spinning part of the procedure. During the spinning technique, your red blood cells are removed to obtain your plasma (where all the good healing platelets are located). We then inject this plasma (platelet rich) back into your injured area with the use of an ultrasound. This allows us to see where we are putting the platelets to give us visual confidence that we have placed them right where YOU need them to be.

Your PLATELETS are what your body uses to heal your tissues, cuts, tendons, and ligaments. YOUR blood carries many healing components. However, many of the areas where you need healing just do not have a good blood supply. With ultrasound, we can better direct your NATURAL healing components with PRP to precise locations.

About Alpha 2 Macroglobulin (A2M)

A2M is primarily used for osteoarthritis. You should consider this BEFORE ever considering surgery! A2M is a naturally occurring macromolecule that is found in your blood serum. A2M is emerging as a tool to help “clean” your joint without any recovery or surgery. A2M has a strong anti-inflammatory effect and neutralizes (eat away) the enzymes and cytokines that are causing the breakdown of your joint and osteoarthritis (possibly caused from a previous injury or aging).

When obtaining the A2M, we perform a special filtering and dehydration procedure of your blood to remove all the excess water and proteases to diminish any inflammatory effects of the injection. The remaining fluid includes YOUR platelets (PRP) to help with healing your joint once it is cleaned out by the A2M. We like to explain the PRP as acting like chapstick to fill in all the cracks and crevices in your joint. With the combination of A2M and PRP, your joint should feel younger and healthier after just a few weeks!
